The violinist Janine Jansen joins the LSO and Sir Antonio Pappano in Brahms's monumental violin concerto, bookended by two British works, both given their first performances by this orchestra. The Maxwell Davies fanfare was first heard at the Barbican last year and features young musicians from the LSO's On Track programme. Walton struggled to finish his First Symphony in 1935, but the LSO performed it incomplete in 1934.
