Tom and the 6 Music listeners devise a Virgin Records 40th anniversary playlist via social media.

Co-founded by Richard Branson, Virgin Records has given us diverse acts such as Daft Punk, Kelis, the Sex Pistols... and the Spice Girls.

A day ahead of the release of the 40th anniversary Virgin Records boxset, Tom Robinson asks 6 Music listeners to select a playlist that befits a two-hour celebration of this prolific label.
This could include 6 Music-friendly acts from their vast back catalogue such as The Chemical Brothers, Jamie T, The Good The Bad and The Queen, LCD Soundsystem, Massive Attack, The Verve or their rhyming labelmates, Curve.

There's also more recent Virgin acts such as Chvrches or Bastille, plus past masters such as The Flying Pickets*.

Plus we'll be hearing from Richard Branson himself and discovering his all-time favourite track from the label's 40 year history.
