In homes across the East, there are thousands of household appliances that could catch fire. Julie Reinger meets the people who were lucky to escape with their lives and asks why manufacturers of faulty washing machines, dishwashers, tumble driers and fridges are failing to find and recall potentially dangerous machines before it's too late.

David Whiteley investigates why residents in care homes across the East are suffering from malnutrition and being served poor food. He meets the daughter of a Norfolk man who lost several stone in just a few weeks whilst in a care home.

It's hard to imagine a world without plastic. And it's said that a factory in Suffolk put plastic in every home in the country. When it was built at Brantham near Manningtree, the factory was home to The British Xylonite Company, one of the first plastic manufacturers in the world. Recently most of the factory was demolished but its legacy will be with us forever. Inside Out tells the story of this pioneering factory and why it was built in the beautiful Suffolk countryside.
