Nick Clegg tells delegates at the Liberal Democrat conference that the party is fit to govern the country, even in tough times.
Peter Allen and Anna Foster with the day's news and sport. Nick Clegg tells Liberal Democrat delegates that they are now a party of government. The Deputy Prime Minister says in his conference speech in Glasgow that he is proud of what they've achieved as part of the coalition. He warns that a clear victory for the Conservatives or Labour at the next election would mean a return to the "clapped out politics of red and blue". Parents of pupils at schools in England are being sent letters warning they'll be fined if they take their children on holiday during term time. We speak to parents, teachers and a union about what this means for schools and families. We hear from two climbers who have become the first Britons to scale a treacherous 3000 foot rock face in Switzerland.
