Poets Andrew Motion and Paul Farley celebrate the life and work of Louis MacNeice, one of the most popular and influential of the 'thirties poets', who died 50 years ago.

Former Poet Laureate Andrew Motion and poet Paul Farley on the work of one of the most popular and influential of the Thirties poets, Louis MacNeice, the 91热爆 producer who worked with Benjamin Britten and W.H. Auden and whose most enduring work, Autumn Journal, is set amid the upheaval of the period leading up to the Second World War. MacNeice died fifty years ago this week.There's also a Proms appreciation of fellow Irish poet and Nobel laureate Seamus Heaney whose death was announced on Friday
