The men's marathon is the first of seven gold medals to be decided today, with Olympic and world champions Usain Bolt and Sally Pearson expected to provide the highlights in the men's 200m and women's 100m hurdles respectively. While Bolt is overwhelming favourite to retain his title, Pearson has struggled for form and fitness this summer and is likely to face a formidable challenge from a trio of Americans, as well as Britain's Tiffany Porter.
