Scottish singer songwriter KT Tunstall gives a live performance of her upcoming single from the new album she recorded in Arizona. Could the Church of England be about to pave the way for the first women bishops? We hear an update from the debate at the General Synod. Margaret Wintringham was the first British-born woman to take her seat in the House of Commons in 1921. We talk to her niece and hear about her 'double act' with the better known MP Nancy Astor. Why writer Lottie Moggach has chosen on-line relationships and the right to die as the themes of her debut novel, Kiss Me First. Children's TV presenter Cerrie Burnell talks about why she's used her own experience as the basis for a play in which the main character is young girl with one hand who dreams of becoming a ballerina.

Women Bishops Update

Today the Church of England Synod in York will debate on new options for a way forward on women bishops.听 Last November, the Synod rejected draft legislation that would have allowed female clergy to become bishops by just six votes.听 Today鈥檚 debate is to consider the proposal to revive legislation allowing women to become bishops. The 91热爆鈥檚 Religious Affairs Correspondent, Robert Piggott joins Jane from the debate to update the story.

Lottie Moggach

Two contemporary themes -听on-line relationships and the right to die -听 are at the heart of Lottie Moggach鈥檚 debut novel, Kiss Me First.听Narrated by a socially isolated young woman, Leila, we hear about Tess who no longer wants to live, but听knows her suicide would hurt those she would leave behind. Tess enrols the support of Leila, who is tasked with becoming Tess鈥檚 online persona. With Tess鈥檚 help,听 Leila gets to know every aspect of Tess鈥檚听 life in order to assume her identity and allow Tess to slip away from the world unnoticed.听Lottie Moggach joins Jane in the studio.

Multi-platinum selling Scottish singer songwriter released her fourth studio album Invisible Empire // Crescent Moon last month. Recorded in Arizona, the Scottish singer says the album is 鈥渇ull of songs from the heart鈥 and follows from the sad death of her father last year. She joins Jane Garvey in the studio to talk about her life and career, and to play Invisible Empire 鈥 her upcoming single from the album of the same name.听

Cerrie Burnell

The children鈥檚 TV presenter Cerrie Burnell is a familiar face to many children and their parents. She started out with roles in Grange Hill, Eastenders and Holby City before joining CBeebies to be one of their main presenters in 2009. She鈥檚 just written a children鈥檚 book and is touring with a stage show which she鈥檚 written herself. The play is partly based on her own experience of growing up and the main character Libby is a young girl who has one hand and dreams of being a ballerina.
