It's the final day for submissions for UK City of Culture and both Aberdeen and Dundee are in the running. Who gets your vote and do either deserve the title?

Education experts have warned that foreign language learning in Scottish schools has dipped to "worrying" new levels. One in ten fifth year pupils are currently taking Highers in language, nearly a quarter less than 20 years ago. And the new Curriculum for Excellence exams will be introduced from August putting greater emphasis on pupil choice - but will youngsters chose foreign languages? Or is three years of high school sprechen sie Deutsch and j'habite en Ecosse enough to put a young person off?

And Kaye asks if you could feed yourself a balanced diet for just 拢1 a day as 5,000 Brits challenge themselves to do just that this week as part of a campaign by the Global Poverty Project.
