For decades the Old Maltings at Ditchingham in Suffolk was a landmark and reminder of industry in the town. But it has another tale to tell. During World War 2, white American GIs were billeted here, segregated from their black comrades who had to sleep in tents. Local villagers who remember that time tell the story of how they fought against discrimination.
