Teaching union the EIS have warned against the mandatory Scottish question in Higher English exams proposed by the Scottish Government. In January Education Secretary, Mike Russell, announced that from 2014/15 candidates will have to answer at least one questions on a Scottish novel, play or poem in the hope young Scots grow up with an understanding of their cultural and literary heritage. But the union said it will only encourage teachers to "teach to the test" and Scottish author Ronald Frame has said he is "uncomfortable with the notion of quantative easing in literary matters". Kaye asks what you think, should Scottish literature be a mandatory part of the English curriculum in schools?

And Sharon Osbourne has opted for a double mastectomy after learning she carries a gene which increases the risk of developing breast cancer. She said after having beaten colon cancer a decade ago she didn't want to go through it all again and decided to have both breasts removed. Kaye speaks to someone who has had a preventative double mastectomy to hear how they came to that decision.
