Raymond is pushed to the limit by terrible demands. Gabriel's dream of getting back into the bosom of his family is shattered. Will's temper has terrible consequences for Robbie.
The residents of Shieldinch, particularly Gabriel and Raymond, are relieved to think that Sean has left town. Despite Gabriel's jubilation, he is concerned that Angie hasn't been in touch. He has reason to be: Will and DCI Donald have found her murdered body, and their prime suspect is Sean Kennedy. Rather than going public on this, Donald directs Will to talk to Gabriel to see if he knows where Sean is. Gabriel doesn't, but is disconcerted to be asked when he last saw Angie. Wanting to protect her, he lies that it was two days ago, not one. Unfortunately for Gabriel, Donald and Will find CCTV footage of Angie scratching Gabriel's face - and Stevie watching. Stevie admits he saw the fight but insists Nicole told him it was faked so Angie could escape Sean. Nicole endorses this, but Donald thinks Gabriel and Angie could have lied. He is taken aback when Sean walks into the station, accusing Gabriel of being obsessed with Angie and murdering her. When CCTV footage shows that Gabriel was wearing the scarf used to kill Angie and Sean confirms the scarf is Gabriel's, Donald has to take Sean's accusation seriously. Add to this that the DNA under Angie's fingernails has proved to be Gabriel's, he lied about when he last saw her, he was the last person to see her alive, and Gabriel becomes chief suspect. Donald has no choice but to arrest him. With every interview, Gabriel seems to dig himself in deeper. When he encounters Sean at the station, his frustrations boil over and he calls him a murderer. Donald and Will still find it hard to believe Gabriel killed Angie, but Raymond gives Sean an alibi and tips the balance. With the evidence piled up, and the MO mirroring the murder of Alicia Petrauskas, Donald has no option but to charge Gabriel with both murders. Lenny puts up bail for Gabriel, and he's released on 'curfew bail' with a tag. Liz agrees to take him in.
Nicole wants her and Stevie to move into a place of their own away from Shieldinch. After Stevie was caught in the raid, and with Leyla six weeks sober, she feels the time is right. Gabriel agrees to help her find a place, only if she tells Leyla of her plans. Nicole does so reluctantly. Leyla makes it clear she's agreeing under duress and Nicole fears it might send her back to drinking. When Leyla learns from Nicole that Gabriel has been pimping for Sean, she is disgusted and tells him so. Gabriel's arrest shakes her even more, especially when she hears that he is under suspicion for killing Alicia. She buys wine to seek solace, but when Scarlett shows her unexpected kindness, she bins the bottle. Stevie and Nicole are relieved to find her sober, but decide against moving out.
Raymond's joy over Sean's exit is cut short when Eileen hands him a letter from the council, revoking his licence due to the arms raid. His heart sinks further when Sean appears, wanting an alibi, thus making Raymond an accessory to murder. With the threat to Eileen and Stuart renewed, Raymond has no choice but to agree. When Sean demands keys to the pub, Raymond's had enough. He asks Lenny for a gun - he'll make Sean take him seriously. Lenny persuades him that he could never use it. Beaten, he hands over the keys to Sean.
Will is frustrated at Donald sidelining him. He tries to seek comfort with Robbie, only to have a spat with him. At work, Donald shocks Will with Gabriel's double charge and annoys him by badmouthing Robbie. His fury erupts at home where he hits Robbie. Deek arrives as Will storms out. He runs after Will to confront him, only to be hit by a car. The car speeds off. Will and Robbie find Deek lying unconscious on the road, his body bruised and broken. But is he alive?
