Jean is horrified to discover that the gym's investment scheme does not exist and, with the Vic low on stock, Roxy soon becomes suspicious. Michael and Janine return to the Square.
Jean’s anxious, Michael isn’t answering her calls. Seeing Jack’s blank look when she asks how the disadvantaged kids’ scheme is going, Jean realises it doesn’t exist. Janine and Michael return from Paris. Janine’s decided she now wants a marquee in the Square for the wedding. Michael pops into the Vic and acts as if he has no idea why Jean would want to talk to him. Jean despairs then decides this has got to stop. She visits Janine and Michael soon joins them. Jean tells Janine Michael’s taken her money and she wants it back. She then walks out and Michael feigns disbelief to Janine.
As Vic Events Manager, Jean’s determined to organise a Jubilee celebration but hasn’t ordered any food or drink. Jean prevents Roxy talking to Alfie on the phone. Despite disagreements on theme and food, Rose, Cora, Patrick, Zainab, Syed, Whitney and Tyler save the day, obtaining food, drink and decorations for the party.
Zainab fears Masood is having an affair when she sees a woman letting him into a house while he claimed to be working. She’s furious, but later discovers he’s been doing paid tutoring work to buy her an engagement ring when he proposes to her at the Vic Jubilee party.
Tamwar learns Afia’s agreed to host speed dating and makes her tell Zainab.
Lucy’s stressed and visits Christian hoping he’ll look after Bobby. Christian’s concerned and says he’s going to call Jane, but Bobby lies that he’s already spoken to her. Janine tells Lucy she wants her money back. Lucy’s touched to see Bobby trying to help and act like a grown up, running a stall selling chips.
Things are chaotic at the B&B, Kim’s overbooked and told the customers their deal includes an evening meal. Denise realises Kim sees her as staff and resigns.
