F1 bosses say the Bahrain Grand Prix will go ahead. South Yorkshire Police defend plans to replace bobbies on the beat. It's Ladies Day at Aintree's Grand National meeting.

Motorsport's governing body, the FIA, says the Bahrain Grand Prix will go ahead next weekend -- despite concerns about safety there because of renewed anti-government protests. The FIA says it's satisfied that adequate security measures are in place. Nicky and Rachel get reaction from two Bahrainis, one a hunger striker and the other a member of the royal family.

The former 91热爆 Secretary David Blunkett has attacked changes which could radically alter the traditional role of bobbies on the beat. South Yorkshire Police wants community support officers, who do not have as many powers as fully-sworn police, to take on the beat officer's duties and be the "first line of contact" with the public.

It's Ladies Day at Aintree's Grand National meeting. Our reporter Rowan Bridge is with a group of ladies in Liverpool as they prepare for their big day out.
