We look at what caused an American soldier to walk off base in Afghanistan and murder 16 people in their homes.

Up All Night is live in Kabul and in Washington to find out why an American soldier left his base in Afghanistan to go and murder at least sixteen civilians, including nine children. Former US Lieutenant Colonel and author Tony Shaffer, who served two undercover tours in the country, tells Dotun that this did not come as a surprise and we should expect more cases like it over the next twelve months.

A military court in Egypt clears an army doctor accused of carrying out forced "virginity tests" on women protesters. Dotun speaks to some of those who gave evidence against him.

Kofi Annan says he is "optimistic" after a second round of talks with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad but as we hear of continued bombing in the city of Idlib we ask if anything has really been achieved?
