Stephen Sackur speaks to Carl Djerassi, who helped invent the contraceptive pill, and asks him how far we should allow science to redefine the process of procreation.

Sixty years ago Carl Djerassi was instrumental in the development of a revolutionary new drug which has since transformed countless women's lives: the oral contraceptive pill. Carl Djerassi's scientific career made him a fortune, it also prompted ethical and moral questions which he has addressed in a series of novels and plays. Stephen Sackur asks him how far should we allow science to redefine the process of procreation?
