Claims some children are starting primary school without even knowing their own name. Plus Treasury minister Danny Alexander on public sector pension reform.

Claims that some children are starting primary school without even knowing their own name or how to open a book. The warning has come from the Communications Trust, which is a coalition of children's charities. They say that in some deprived areas up to fifty per cent of children are starting school with poor vocabulary. We hear from the headteacher of a group of schools in Manchester, as well as the government's communication champion for children, primary school teachers and parents.

We also speak to Treasury minister Danny Alexander on public sector pension reform and hear from Lord Justice Leveson, the man leading the inquiry into phone hacking, as he outlines how it will work.
