Sir Terry Wogan eases you into your Sunday lunch with music and musings. There's an American theme to the show this week as Terry chats to model and actress Christie Brinkley, and Alison Krauss gives a stripped down performance.
American model and actress Christie Brinkley is known for having graced the cover of Sports illustrated Swimsuit Edition three consecutive times and for having the longest ever modelling contract - 20 years with CoverGirl. Discovered in Paris aged 19, Christie has enjoyed a successful modelling career ever since, and first took an acting role in 1983's National Lampoon's Vacation. Since then she has been a regular TV star in America and is soon to make her London West End debut as Roxie Hart in Chicago.
American bluegrass singer, songwriter and fiddler Alison Krauss started her musical career as a child and released her first solo album in 1985 at the age of just 14. Krauss famously collaborated with Robert Plant on their Mercury-nominated 2007 album Raising Sand, and she has won a record 26 Grammy Awards over the course of her career as a solo artist, producer and with her collaborations - more than any other female artist. Paper Airplane, the latest album by Alison Krauss and Union Station, was released in April.
