The government launches its 'Welfare to Work Programme' and droughts are causing hovoc for farmers in Europe.

The government's 'Welfare to Work Programme' will controversially pay providers by results. We speak to Kirsty McHugh, chief executive of the Employment Related Services Association which represents Welfare-To-Work providers.

It has been one of the driest springs on record in the UK. Other parts of Western Europe are also suffering as President Sarkozy announces up to a billion Euros worth of aid for French farmers. Over in the US, too much rain has played havoc with the corn crop. Kona Haque, commodities analyst at Macquarie Bank explains more.

As we reach the deadline for nominations for the top job at the International Monetary Fund, we are joined by Stephanie Rickard from the government department at the London School of Economics.
