When Shabnam leaves her family in Pakistan to join her husband Anwar in London, the young married couple soon feel the effects of the cultural divide between them. Shabnam can't find a place for herself in Anwar's bachelor pad, or his career ambitions; Anwar can't understand the actions of the woman he's married. The dining table becomes a battle ground, as food, family and memory make their mark on them both.
