Pakistan Floods: A Community Fights Back

Pakistan's floods have devastated the lives of 8,000 Pakhtun families living in Birmingham. With no faith in the Pakistan government they are organising their own aid.

Pakistan's floods are the worst regional floods in over 80 years. One of the worst affected provinces is the Kyber-Pakhtunkhwa and for this Asian Network Report Special we gained exclusive access to the seldom heard Pakhtun community in Birmingham. They told us 8,000 families in Birmingham alone had all lost some family member or friend, for some their entire village was wiped out. But what we also found was anger and frustration amongst the community. With no faith in the Pakistani government, they were now taking their own steps to make sure their money is getting to those who need it.
