91热爆 Proms 2010

Live from Cadogan Hall, London

Presented by Catherine Bott

Proms Bach Day launches with the complete Brandenburg Concertos in two concerts given by the English Baroque Soloists and conductor John Eliot Gardiner. Written for the small orchestra of fine musicians at the court of Anhalt-C脙露then, where Bach was Kapellmeister for six years from 1717, each concerto uses a different line-up of musicians. "No other set of concertos" maintains Gardiner, "can compare with Bach's for diversity of instrument make-up, for the prominence and variety of wind instruments, or for the myriad textural contrasts this allows."

Bach: Brandenburg Concerto No. 1 in F major, BWV 1046
Bach: Brandenburg Concerto No. 6 in B flat major, BWV 1051
Bach: Brandenburg Concerto No. 4 in G major BWV 1049
