Pensions are the next target in the government's push towards austerity - the details of a new plan to raise the state pension retirement age will be released today. And the government is asking six million public sector workers for their suggestions to help cut the deficit.

The City watchdog, the Financial Services Authority, holds its annual meeting today. It's one of the last chances for the public to have their say before the FSA is broken up into two new authorities within two years.
