Robbie pushes Gordon too far when he tries to break up his relationship with Ruth. Eileen lies to Gina about just who ended the relationship between her and Murray.
Robbie's flirtatious behaviour towards Gordon leads Scott to realise that Robbie has a secret crush and he warns Robbie to be very careful. Ruth arranges a lunch date with Gordon. She's left annoyed when he cancels on her in favour of meeting a supplier. Ruth arranges to go out with Hayley instead which puts Robbie's nose out of joint. During the girls' lunch Gordon's phone beeps: realising she took it by mistake, Ruth hands the phone to Hayley who reads the message. Robbie has gotten a customer to send Gordon a fake love message knowing Ruth had his phone. Ruth storms back into the salon and, spying flowers on the counter for Gordon (again sent by Robbie), she drops Gordon's phone into a customer's cup of tea and stalks out while Robbie watches with delight.
With Ruth seemingly out of the way, Robbie invites Gordon to dinner knowing that Hayley will be out also. At dinner Robbie proceeds to get Gordon drunk and is on the verge of trying to kiss him when Gordon runs to the bathroom to be sick. The next morning Gordon arrives at Ruth 's to try and make up. She angrily questions him about the message and flowers but it's Scott who suddenly clicks that Robbie is behind it all. Gordon goes to the salon and asks Robbie if he sent the message and flowers. When Robbie decides to come clean Gordon immediately sacks him. Robbie in turn angrily shouts at everyone in the shop and then walks out. Scott goes after him and he finally manages to get Robbie to open up. Robbie admits that he just wants someone to love him. He bravely returns to the salon and apologises to Ruth and Gordon for his scheming behaviour. After he leaves, Ruth asks Gordon to reconsider his decision to sack Robbie which he does. Gordon goes to Robbie's and offers him his job back which Robbie gratefully accepts.
Murray can't understand why Gina is being so frosty with him and begs her to allow them to at least be friends. Unfortunately, Eileen's version of their break-up has convinced Gina that Murray isn't interested in her and is just enjoying playing games. Having got nowhere with Gina, a disheartened Murray reveals to Raymond that he has real feelings for Gina but he can't make her listen to him. A fight erupts between Gina and Eileen with Eileen accusing her sister of stealing Murray off her. As their argument escalates, Murray hears them and decides to make it easy on everyone and leave. Raymond tells Eileen off for being so mean to Gina and points out that actually Murray did ask Gina out but she said no in order not to upset Eileen. A remorseful Eileen makes up with Gina and encourages her to go after Murray before it's too late. Gina chases after Murray and catches up with him just in time, and she convinces him to stay with a kiss.
