91热爆 NOW/Thomas Sondergard

Roderick Williams (baritone), 91热爆 National Orchestra of Wales under Thomas Sondergard. Sibelius: En Saga. Mahler: Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen. Brahms: Symphony No 4.

Presented by Petroc Trelawny.

Two works from the heart of the Viennese tradition, crowned by the ageless classicism and passionately elegiac Fourth Symphony of Brahms. Mahler's youthful songs bring alive the gentle folk poetry of the fields and woods, the wavering nightlight and sharp fleeting raptures, a young man's music of love and loss sung by young British baritone Roderick Williams. Opening the concert, however, is Sibelius' fairy tale tone poem, En Saga. Recorded at St David's Hall Cardiff.
