Ahead of Radio 3's Free Thinking Festival 2009 at the Sage, Gateshead, the concert venue's resident orchestra the Northern Sinfonia shows its credentials in contemporary music with works by four living British composers and an American one. They are led by their music director Thomas Zehetmair.
