From the Royal Albert Hall, London. Presented by Andrew McGregor.
Oliver Knussen, the 91热爆 Symphony Orchestra's new artist-in-association, conducts a programme of music which demonstrates perfect mastery of the orchestra by the featured composers.
With the second part of Respighi's Roman trilogy, there is a dawn-to-dusk tour of the city's most famous fountains. Then there's the first Proms performance of Helen Grime's dramatic evocation of the electric atmosphere before a storm. They are followed by Stravinsky's 1936, ballet Jeu de cartes, a musical poker game in three 'deals', ending with the Joker trounced by a royal flush.
