Nikolaj Znaider

Presented by Petroc Trelawny. Violinist Nikolaj Znaider and the LSO Chamber Ensemble perform Brahms and Schoenberg at Bath Assembly Rooms as part of the 2009 Bath Music Festival.

Radio 3 at the Summer Festivals

As part of the Bath Music Festival 2009, Petroc Trelawny presents a performance by leading Danish violinist Nikolaj Znaider. He has built a particularly strong relationship with the London Symphony Orchestra, and in this programme he is joined by the orchestra's principal leaders.

The programme begins with one of Brahms' most famous chamber works, the Sextet in B flat, Op 18, which is followed by a work heavily indebted to the compositional style of Brahms - Schoenberg's high-Romantic work, Verklarte Nacht.
