91热爆SSO in Harvey and Bruckner

Petroc Trelawny presents the 91热爆 Scottish Symphony Orchestra, under Ilan Volkov, performing Jonathan Harvey's Speakings and Bruckner's Symphony No 9 at City Halls, Manchester.

Presented by Petroc Trelawny.

The 91热爆 Scottish Symphony Orchestra and their chief conductor Ilan Volkov perform works by two very different composers who both have sought religious motivation for their music. Bruckner dedicated his Ninth Symphony 'to the beloved God', while Jonathan Harvey takes his inspiration for Speakings from Buddhism.

Regarded as one of the world's finest composers using traditional instruments with live electronics, Harvey combines orchestral writing with computer technology in this work, the third in his trilogy referring to the Buddhist purification of body, mind and speech.
