Jim and Daniel have been making paper chains but Shula can't believe it when she sees Jim using his crutch to try to hang them over the light fittings. It's no surprise when he loses his balance and the Christmas tree comes crashing down. Shula refuses to accept Jim's offer to put the tree back. She's had enough of him trying to be nice and tells him to stop trying to make things up to her. She knows he's sorry he threw out her casserole but she wants him to go back to the way he was before. It was safer.

Shula's party's going well, and it seems that Heather has the knack of keeping Jim in order. They hit it off instantly.

Kathy doesn't feel ill enough to see the doctor but Kenton insists that it's for the best. Back home, Kathy's grateful to Kenton for picking up Jamie and is delighted that he's booked a table at the Bull for Christmas day. Kathy doesn't know what she'd do without Kenton. He tells her she's never going to have to find out. She's got two weeks to rest and to give Jamie the Christmas he deserves.
