The quest for gold begins for the women's 100m and 400m hurdlers whilst in the men's high jump British challengers Martyn Bernard and Germaine Mason will be looking to book their places in the final. There is also qualifictaion for women's discus and the women's long jump, where the USA's reigning world champion Tianna Madison will be hoping to progress smoothly through to tomorrow's final.
