Series about 1990s pop culture. In 1996, the Spice Girls hit the charts, The Girlie Show gave us ladettes and Anna fought with Miles in cult TV drama, This Life.

The series about 1990s pop culture reaches 1996 - the year the girls got power. Ginger, Baby, Scary, Sporty and Posh released their debut single, Wannabe. Lara Croft went on an adventure in Tomb Raider, while The Girlie Show gave us ladettes. Anna fought with Miles in This Life, the cult TV drama of the year. Mark Morrison, the self-styled bad boy of soul, got a taste of success. Los Del Rio created a worldwide dance craze with the Macarena, and the hero of the year was Buzz Lightyear, the toy that thought it could fly. But it was a less successful year for footballer Gareth Southgate.
