Who's who in Paradise?

From family members, to the agents that investigated the case, here are some of the key players that we hear about in Paradise.

Christopher Farmer

A newly qualified doctor with an adventurous spirit and a love of music. He grew up in Chorlton, Greater Manchester on the same street as his girlfriend, Peta. He was 25 in 1978 when he and Peta went missing in Central America.

Peta Frampton

Described as “beautiful, quiet and interesting”, Peta had just completed a law degree when she went travelling with Chris. She charted their journey in letters home - last writing from Hunting Caye, Belize on 29 June 1978. She was 24.

Silas Duane Boston

Known to most people as Duane, the Californian was arrested on 1 December 2016 for the murders of Chris and Peta. He died in custody a few months later, before the trial could take place. He is also suspected of murdering his wife, Mary Lou, in 1968.

Mary-Lou Boston

Wife to Duane and mother of Vicki, Vince and Russell. She disappeared in 1968 after filing for a divorce from Duane. He is suspected of driving her to a remote spot where he shot and buried her. Her body has never been found.

Vince Boston

The middle child of Duane and Mary Lou Boston, Vince told investigators that when he was 13 he witnessed his father kill Chris and Peta on board the Justin B. Vince was estranged from his father for his entire adult life.

Russell Boston (Jnr)

Vince's younger brother, Russell, also told investigators he witnessed the murders of Chris and Peta. He was able to give investigators his father's original receipt for the purchase of the Justin B and Chris's casette tapes, which his father kept.

Russell Boston (Snr)

The father of Silas Duane Boston, he traveled down to Belize to help Duane purchase the Justin B. A convicted criminal, he once escaped from jail by beating a guard over the head.

Mary Sellers

Duane's mother looked after Vince and Russell at various points in their childhood. Vince and Russell say she told them when they were young that their father had killed their mother. Her handwritten notes later reveal a vital clue.

Aunt Arthene

Duane's older half-sister who helped raise him during a tumultuous childhood. She says her mother, Mary Sellers, told her that Duane killed Mary Lou.

Kathe

Duane's ex-wife who reported him for child stealing in 1979 when he abducted their child. In 1999 she told San Rafael Det Sgt Jim Kelly that Vince and Russell had witnessed Chris and Peta's murders.

Charles and Audrey Farmer

Chris' parents worked tirelessly to find out what happened to their son after his disappearance in 1978. Charles and Audrey met at the 91Èȱ¬ in Manchester where Charles was a producer and reporter. He died in 2012. Audrey turned 90 in 2015.

Penny Farmer

Chris' younger sister Penny found Silas Duane Boston on Facebook in 2015 and encouraged the cold case unit at Greater Manchester Police to repoen the case. She wrote about her family's experience in her book, 'Dead in the Water'.

John and Sammie Frampton

Peta's parents John, an ex-RAF officer and Sammie, a brilliant lawyer, had five children in total. They lived in Chorlton when Chris and Peta met as teenagers. Sammie died not long after Peta's death after contracting lupus.

Blaise and Jenny Frampton

Blaise is the eldest of the five Frampton siblings. He and his wife, Jenny, live in Sandwich, Kent.

David Sacks

The original Greater Manchester Police Special Branch officer who investigated Chris and Peta's disappearance in 1978. He kept a copy of the original case files in his garden shed for more than 30 years, which he was able to hand to detectives in 2016.

David Sesma

The FBI agent who eventually arrested Silas Duane Boston in December 2016. He led the FBI investigation which gathered evidence for the trial.

Michaela Clinch

Greater Manchester Police detective constable who reopened the cold case after being contacted by Penny Farmer in 2015.

Jim Kelly

Former San Rafael PD officer who interviewed Silas Duane Boston about Chris and Pata's murders in 1981 after his arrest for child stealing. He contacted Interpol in 1999 when Kathe told him Vince and Russell had witnessed the murders.

Amy Crosby

Sacramento Police Department detective who reopened the case in 2015 after suspecting Silas Duane Boston might be connected the Golden State Killer.

Bob McCloskey

Sacramento Police Department officer who investigated Silas Duane Boston in 2012 after being contacted by Vince Boston.

Matt Segal

Chief of the Special Prosecutions Unit in the US Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of California who was leading the prosecution of Silas Duane Boston.

Lexi Nagin

Assistant federal defender who was assigned to defend Silas Duane Boston before he died in 2016.
