Ok, so they might not be 100% up to date with the syllabus requirements

But if you're after a quick break with some genuine facts, we've trawled the Radio 1 playlist for the latest tracks to help you stay focussed in the run-up to exams.

Say hello to some new professors!

Chemistry with Meghan Trainor

Professor Trainor, an expert in chemistry, is here to help you revise with her most recent single, 'NO'.

NO is the chemical formula for Nitric Oxide, a compound of Nitrogen and Oxygen and winner of Molecule of the Year, 1992. Like Meghan's single, it was important in the history of understanding bonding, although in Nitric Oxide's case the free radical in question is an unpaired electron rather than an unharassed lady.

Nitric Oxide is used for loads of things your body (and nearly every other animal's body) does, like protecting tissue cells (including your liver) from damage. However, in concentration it's a 'greenhouse gas,' responsible for depleting the Ozone Layer - a major no-no-no.

Economics with Galantis

Galantis are best known for making music to be listened to on rollercoasters - with current single No Money, they've also branched out into the study of Economics.

Economics is the study of how money moves around and why some people end up with a lot of it and some people, like in Galantis' track, end up with none. On the Macro scale, it's how things move around the world - why a single selling well in the UK might mean success at US dance festivals, for instance. On the Micro scale it's about individual decisions - whether you buy a packet of crisps or a dance single, for instance.

'No Money' is about refusing to give money to someone demanding it, representing a Marxist critique of the extortion of value by those who control the means of production from those who produce it.

English Literature with Chairlift

Charlift's new single 'Romeo' is a reference to Romeo Montague, one of the two eponymous protagonists of William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.

Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy about doomed love in a conflicted society, with themes around youth, love, fate and death. The characters commit to each other against all odds and rush of passion that kills them too quickly to fade.

Written in the 1500s, Romeo and Juliet was based on a contemporary poem and references classical tragedies - since its first performance, it's inspired thousands of adaptations and millions of references. In the case of Chairlift, they're asking Romeo to "put on his running shoes and ready to go" - which is a lot less likely to lead to any deaths than the original work and much more likely to lead to forgetting about the commitment to go running for a bit and giving the shoes to a charity shop in a few months.

Geography with DNCE

72% of the Earth's surface is covered in ocean - which is extremely good news for DNCE, makers of hit 'Cake By The Ocean.'

With around 221,208 miles of coastline in the world, if we take the average size of an individual cake to be around 3 inches across then laid end to end there could be 4,671,912,960 cakes by the ocean.

That's four billion, six hundred and seventy one million, nine hundred and twelve thousand, nine hundred and sixty cakes. Party!
