Last Night of the Proms FAQs
What is the Last Night of the Proms?
The world’s biggest classical festival demands a big finale, and it doesn’t get much bigger than the annual musical party that is the Last Night of the Proms. A much-loved and honoured tradition, the Last Night of the Proms is a joyous celebration of classical music. Owing to the huge popularity of this concert there are several ways of getting tickets which differ from other Proms in the season.
How do I get tickets?
Owing to the huge demand for Last Night of the Proms tickets, special booking arrangements apply. There are several ways to get tickets for this concert including the Open Ballot, Five-Concert Ballot, the general sale, purchasing a Whole Season Pass and Day Promming.
What is the Open Ballot?
One hundred Centre Stalls seats (priced £130.00 each, plus booking fee) and 100 Front Circle seats (priced £95.00 each, plus booking fee) for the Last Night of the Proms will be allocated by Open Ballot, which closes at midnight on Thursday 11 July. What is the Five-Concert Ballot?
Customers who purchase tickets for at least five other concerts at the Royal Albert Hall are eligible to enter the Five-Concert Ballot. You can apply to buy a maximum of two tickets for the Last Night. If you are successful in the Ballot, you will not be obliged to buy Last Night tickets should your preferred seating section not be available, or if you change your mind.
Please note: to opt in to the five-concert ballot, you must tick the ‘ballot opt-in’ box when booking online, or inform the Box Office that you wish to enter this Ballot when booking by telephone, in person or by post.
The Five-Concert Ballot closes at midnight on Thursday 6 June and successful applicants will be informed by Friday 21 June.
If you are successful, please note that your Last Night tickets will not be issued until Friday 6 September. If you are unsuccessful in the Five-Concert Ballot, no refunds for other tickets purchased will be payable.
If you require a wheelchair space for the Last Night of the Proms, you will still need to book for five other concerts. You will also need to call our Access Information Line (020 7070 4410) by Thursday 6 June and request that you are entered into the separate ballot for wheelchair spaces. This ballot cannot be entered online.
How many tickets can I buy?
There is a ticket limit of 2 tickets per booker for the Last Night of the Proms.
How do I book access tickets for the Last Night of the Proms?
If you require a wheelchair space for the Last Night of the Proms there are several different ways to book:
- You can enter the separate Five-Concert Ballot for wheelchair users. You can enter by phone from Saturday 18 May until Thursday 6 June by Phoning our Access line on 020 7070 4410 and when booking 5 Proms please request to be entered into the ballot. This ballot cannot be entered online.
- You can also enter the . This is open now and closes on Thursday 11 July. We will contact winners by 18 July, and when contacted please tell us about your access requirements.
- Any remaining tickets will go on sale at 9am on Friday 19 July (maximum of 2 tickets per booker)
Will my season pass guarantee me access to the Last Night of the Proms?
Whole Season Tickets include admission to the Last Night. Whole Season Pass holders must claim their ticket online from midday the day before until 10am on the day. If you redeem after 10.30am on the day you will not be guaranteed admission.
Will there be a general sale for the Last Night of the Proms?
Any remaining tickets will go on sale at 9am on Friday 19 July (maximum of 2 tickets per booker).
Are there Day Promming tickets for the Last Night of the Proms?
Day Promming tickets are available to purchase online for the Last Night of the Proms from 10.30am on the day. Tickets cost £8 (including fees) and Prommers can book up to 2 tickets.
You can also get a Promming ticket earlier if you have prommed 5 or more times. Please see below for more details.
What is the 5-Day Prom tickets rule?
A limited number of Last Night Promming tickets (priced £8 including booking fee) are reserved for Prommers who have attended five or more concerts (in the Promming areas of the Hall). They are eligible to purchase one ticket each for the Last Night on presentation of their used e-tickets in person.
Tickets will be available to purchase from the Box Office at Door 12. A limited number will be released at the following times:
Tuesday 23 July, 9am
Monday 26 August, 9am
Monday 9 September, 9am
Is there a booking fee?
A booking fee of 2% of the total value - plus £2.00 per ticket - applies to all bookings for Last Night tickets.
