Clara Amfo talks to Oliver Sykes about 'Avalanche' and headlining at Radio 1's Big Weekend for New Music Friday

Bring Me The Horizon are on tour in the US so Clara called Oliver for New Music Friday.

Clara called Oliver Sykes from Bring Me The Horizon up to talk about new single 'Avalanche' and headlining the In New Music We Trust stage at Radio 1's Big Weekend in Exeter.

I don't think our band's ever been part of a line up where I want to see so many of the bands on stage.

"I guess every single we've chose off this album is kind of to represent a really like different sound and a different thing we wanna do.

"Off the back of 'Follow You', our last single, we just really wanted to put something out there that was really big and really anthemic and with all the festivals coming up we wanted something we wanted to play to everyone and get everyone to know."

Clara asked how the band feel about headlining at Radio 1's Big Weekend...

"It's crazy! I'm really excited. I was saying to the rest of the band, I don't think our band's ever been part of a line-up where I want to see so many of the bands on stage.

Tame Impala are a band I absolutely love. Stormzy I really like, CHVRCHES, twentyonepilots as well are awesome and I haven't had a chance to see them yet, either. There's just so many great bands on the lineup and we just couldn't believe we're actually headlining. Craig David, as well!"

We had to ask if there was a chance of a BMTH/Craig David collaboration...

"I think we'll just be watching from the side of the stage, just fangirling."
