Booking for 91Èȱ¬ Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Glasgow has now closed and all available tickets have been allocated. We’re sorry if you missed out this year – the demand for tickets was again huge and we were not able to give them to everyone hoping to go.

If you weren’t lucky in getting tickets, you’ll be able to enjoy extensive coverage of the weekend across Radio 1, 1Xtra, 91Èȱ¬ Three and online here. 

On Friday night Radio 1 will be getting the Big Weekend party started by broadcasting live from the iconic George Square in Glasgow. Radio 1's Annie Mac, Pete Tong, Zane Lowe and Danny Howard will be joined by Martin Garrix and Tiesto.

 Saturday and Sunday will be similar to previous Big Weekend events, with a main stage, an In New Music We Trust tent and a 91Èȱ¬ Introducing stage. - however please note this is not the actual order of performances. On Saturday One Direction will open the main stage, with Kings of Leon appearing first on Sunday.

On Friday 23 May, Greg James will be live from George Square on Radio 1 from 4pm onwards, with full coverage of the event from 5.55pm after Newsbeat, right through until 11pm.

You’ll also be able to watch live coverage from 6-11pm here on Radio 1’s online pages, or via the 91Èȱ¬â€™s Red Button service.

On Saturday and Sunday, Matt Edmondson will be live from Glasgow between 10am and 1pm on Radio 1, with full coverage of the event from Glasgow Green starting at 1pm each day. Expect live sets, highlights and exclusive access throughout the festival.

Online, Radio 1 TV will offer live stage streams from 1pm to 11pm each day; while 91Èȱ¬ Three will be on-air with various programmes from 7pm. You’ll also be able to watch highlights via the Red Button at various times.

Friday night’s 91Èȱ¬ Radio 1’s Big Weekend live from George Square is strictly 18s and over and ID checks will be carried out at the entrance. The following forms of ID will be accepted:

1. A valid passport

2. A valid European Union Photocard Driving Licence

3. A valid photographic identity card bearing the National Proof Of Age Standards Scheme (PASS) hologram

There is no age restriction on Saturday and Sunday at 91Èȱ¬ Radio 1’s Big Weekend live from Glasgow Green; however under-16s will need to be accompanied by a responsible adult aged 18 or over. You may be asked for ID to verify your age. Children under two years old do not need a ticket, but those two and over will need one. Please bear in mind that this is an outdoor event, with loud music and large crowds expected – it is not an event designed for young children.

Bars will be operating a ‘Challenge 25’ policy. If bar staff feel you look under the age of 25 they will ask you to provide photo ID with proof that you are 18 or over. The three forms of ID above will be the only ones that will be accepted.

For Friday’s 91Èȱ¬ Radio 1’s Big Weekend live from George Square gates will open around 5pm on 23 May and the event will finish around 11pm.

Gates for 91Èȱ¬ Radio 1’s Big Weekend live from Glasgow Green will open around 12 noon on Saturday and Sunday, 24 & 25 May. The event will finish around 11pm on both days.

Confirmation emails are sent almost immediately after booking, but can sometimes take a few hours to be delivered due to the way some email providers check for junk mail. If you haven’t received your confirmation please check your junk/spam folders in the first instance.

If you still cannot find anything, it’s possible you gave us the wrong email address when booking. Please keep hold of the booking reference number we asked you to write down at the end of the booking process as this will mean we can track your tickets if there is a problem.

Tickets will be sent out in early May to the address you provided when booking and we cannot change this. Tickets are printed with a unique barcode, which is scanned at the entrance to the event. They are fully traceable and we can cancel them at any time by invalidating the barcode.

Please do not risk buying tickets. Those offering tickets for sale or as prizes are breaking the Terms & Conditions they agreed to during the booking process and we reserve the right to cancel them.

Unfortunately a small handful of people do try to take advantage of those disappointed at missing out on getting tickets and claim – often falsely - they have tickets you can either buy, or win, via social media. We ask those running major auction websites and sales outlets to have posts offering tickets for sale or trade removed. However, since posts do not need to be approved before appearing, they are unable to stop them being advertised in the first place.

You may also see posts on other social media sites from people claiming they have tickets to give away as prizes. We are unable to stop people doing this and there is no way to know if their claims to have tickets are genuine – in many cases they may simply be trying to get more publicity for their pages.

You should also be aware that, in the past, some people have claimed their tickets have failed to arrive and cancelled them, ordering replacements. They have then offered the original tickets for sale; with those buying them not realising they are worthless until they turn up at the event on the day. There is a high probability that any tickets offered for sale for the event will have been cancelled and will not allow entry to the event.

If your tickets have not arrived by Wednesday 14th May you can request replacements by calling the number in your Ticket Confirmation email – however this must be done by 5pm on Monday 19th May or we will be unable to help.

Your original tickets will be cancelled and the barcode on them invalidated – this means they will not give you entry to the event. In order to collect your replacement tickets you will need to provide Photo ID or the credit/debit card used to make the booking plus proof you live at the address used when booking - for example a driving licence or utility bill. 

Your tickets are personal to you – they feature your name and address. You can swap tickets with a friend, but do so at your own risk. We will not issue replacement tickets if the ones your friend gives you are invalid for any reason.

This is an outdoor event and you may want to check the weather forecast before coming, bringing suntan lotion, raincoats, jumpers, or all three, accordingly. Temperatures are likely to dip when the sun goes down and the event continues until around 11pm.

No food or drink can be taken into the site – with the exception of personal supplies of water in a plastic container with an unbroken seal (up to 500 ml per person); or special medical supplies (please bring a doctor’s note if these are not obviously medicinal).

Yes, but please be aware professional photography equipment is not allowed and we advise you to leave zoom lenses and other pieces of expensive film/filming equipment at home. Profession recording equipment is prohibited.

We are committed to doing all we can to ensure everyone can enjoy this unique event and will have a range of facilities in place to assist disabled people.

Those wishing to attend will need to apply for tickets in the normal way; however, if successful, they will be able to request an additional, complimentary, PA/Companion ticket.

Please note these facilities are not available to those with short-term injuries, for example broken legs, or women who are pregnant. There are medical and welfare facilities on site for all customers, but use of the disabled facilities will be strictly regulated.

Staging this event would be impossible without the co-operation and support of Glasgow City Council and, as with previous Big Weekends, an element of preference was therefore given to those resident in the local area. Over 30,000 tickets were reserved for those in Glasgow; however the city’s estimated population is around 600,000, so clearly only a small proportion of those in the local area are able to attend.

We do understand those who missed out on tickets may feel more should have been reserved for their particular area; unfortunately, with so many people hoping to attend, no distribution method would have been able to satisfy everybody.

We try to read all requests sent to us; however please do not be offended if, due to the large number of enquiries we receive, we do not have time to respond to you personally.
