It's the Eighties and an agitated Betty Stevenson is in her loft, trying on a dress that used to fit around 30 years ago, in the first episode in Kay Mellor's A Passionate Woman, starring Billie Piper and Sue Johnston.
Surrounded by mementos from her past, Betty is transported back to the Fifties, to a dance hall full of boys in blazers dancing with girls in full-skirted dresses. It was the night she met Alex Crazenovski 鈥 or Craze; a gorgeous bad boy who she later discovers lives below her in a run-down tenement block in Leeds.
Despite knowing Betty has a husband and being married himself, Craze pursues Betty and she can't help but respond to his advances. Nobody has ever made her feel the way Craze does 鈥 especially her husband, Donald. Betty's relationship with Craze awakens a part of her she didn't know existed and, as the couple take more and more risks to be together, she realises she would give up everything to have a life with him. However, she wonders whether he would leave his wife, Moira.
Weeks later, Betty is driven to desperation when Donald proudly announces he's finally saved up enough money to put a deposit on a house in a better area. When she discovers that Moira is pregnant, Betty is close to hysterical. She is furious with Craze for what she sees as the ultimate betrayal. On moving house with Donald and baby Mark, Betty soon slumps into depression, terrified of living a life she now sees as empty and passionless.
Betty then receives a letter from Craze, begging her to run away with him. She manages to escape from Donald but their planned rendezvous is thwarted by the arrival of Her Majesty The Queen on a visit to Leeds. Betty is distraught when, after arriving late, Craze doesn't show. A few days later, she discovers the shocking truth 鈥 Moira found a letter from Betty and shot her husband dead in a jealous rage.
The arrival of Betty's now grown-up son, Mark, jolts Betty back from the Fifties and he can't understand why his mother is in the loft 鈥 it's his wedding day! Betty placates her son and promises to return to the wedding party. As Mark leaves to get a step ladder to help his mother down, Betty drops the loft hatch and pushes a chest on top of it. Turning round, she sees Craze, large as life, standing in her loft: "So what happens now, beautiful?"

This extraordinary three-part observational series explores life at the sharp end of one of the most extreme urban environments in the world: Lagos, Nigeria. Today, more than half the world's population live in cities, and this eye-opening series shows what life is really like in the toughest parts of the world's fastest-growing megacity.
With extraordinary access to some of the poorest parts of town, the series celebrates the resilience, resourcefulness and energy of Lagos's 16 million or so inhabitants, and shows how successfully many of its slum-dwellers are adapting to the extreme urban future.
The first programme was filmed in the city's rubbish dump; the second at Makoko, a floating slum where 300,000 people live on the water; and the third in the squatter camps on the beach, where residents are constantly under threat of forcible eviction.
Tonight's episode uncovers life in Olusosun rubbish dump. Here, around a thousand people live on top of the rubbish in houses built from scrap. It looks like the end of the world, but the film reveals that there is order 鈥 and honour 鈥 among this seemingly chaotic environment. There are shops, bars, restaurants, cinemas, even a mosque, and the scavengers have set up their own kind of government, with a democratically elected chairman at the head.
The film follows the daily lives of two men in particular who have become skilled at turning rubbish into gold. Eric is a musician, and every bit of scrap he finds brings him one step closer to his dream of launching his music career, but a serious fight nearly ruins his chances. Joseph is a trader who works hard to provide for his wife and two small children, and who offers profound insights into the value of a loving family life, while up to his ears in garbage.

A famous victory, a devastating fire and the recreation of some iconic art 鈥 in Raising The Armada, 91热爆 deputy political editor James Landale tells how, after more than 150 years, the Spanish Armada is finally returning to the Palace of Westminster.
In 1588, English commanders saw off the mighty invasion fleet assembled by Philip II of Spain 鈥 a triumph which laid the foundations of Britain's Naval power.
Ten giant tapestries depicting key scenes from the campaign were displayed in the old House of Lords. They were as symbolic of Parliament as Big Ben is today. But their tale was lost when the entire building burnt down in 1834.
Prince Albert, consort of Queen Victoria, wanted six tapestries to be recreated on canvas 鈥 to hang in a specially designed room next to the new Lords chamber. But work was halted by his death in 1861, with only one painting completed.
James Landale explains how the efforts of a House of Lords researcher 鈥 and 拢330,000 of private sponsorship 鈥 have now helped persuade peers to revive the project.
In the first of a two-part series, Raising The Armada follows artist Anthony Oakshett and his team in their studio at Wrest Park as they create five paintings to match the one Victorian example.
And the programme also hears the tale of the one tapestry which escaped the flames 鈥 and its probable fate.
In the second episode, 91热爆 Parliament will report on the installation of the paintings in the House of Lords.
They are due to go on public display in the Royal Gallery in June, before being fixed high up on the walls of the Prince's Chamber in autumn 2010.

CBeebies' younger viewers can tune in for more musical mayhem and madness this week, as the new music sensation ZingZillas continues. This week's visitors to the tropical island glade include Brit award-winning cellist Julian Lloyd Webber, Jugnu Bhangra, bluegrass band Kickin' Alice and the Appalachian Cloggers, harpist Catrin Finch and saxophonist James Knight. Together, they join forces with Zak, Tang, Panzee and Drum in the daily Big Zing.
The fun begins on Monday, and there is sticker trouble as Panzee prepares to play a duet with cellist Julian Lloyd Webber. Julian has given Panzee a special sticker of a cello which helps her focus on practising her music, even when it's really tricky. She loves showing the sticker off to all her friends around the island 鈥 until Granite and Gravel spot that it's missing. Can Panzee play her duet without her lucky sticker?
Tuesday starts with Zak, Panzee and Tang all heading off into the jungle for some exercise. Zak makes up a special exercising song and they get so caught up in it they end up on the other side of the island. Meanwhile, Drum has stayed behind and is lured to the glade by the sound of drumming and dancing. There, she sees Jugnu Bhangra in action and she's so captivated she joins in. DJ Loose is worried the other ZingZillas won't make it back in time, so Drum starts preparing to do a Bhangra Big Zing, using one of Todd's sheets as a costume. As the fourth coconut falls, the other ZingZillas make it back just in time to combine Drum's Bhangra dancing with Zak's bouncing exercise song to create a magnificent Bhangra Beats Big Zing.
Panzee's new boots arrive on Wednesday and she can't wait to try them on. They make an annoying squeaky sound but, before Zak can mention it, they all rush off to the glade with DJ Loose to hear Bluegrass band Kickin' Alice, accompanied by a troop of Appalachian cloggers. Panzee particularly likes the clogging but the rehearsal for the Big Zing grinds to a halt when she starts to clog 鈥 the others can't stand the squeaking sound coming from her boots. Panzee runs away thinking they don't like her dancing, so the race is on for them to make up and fix her squeaky boots in time for the Big Zing.
On Thursday there is a special night-time Big Zing and Drum is really excited about staying up late. The other ZingZillas try to persuade her to have a nap in the afternoon or she'll be too tired to play, but Drum is too excited to rest even for a moment. The dreamy sound of the harp from today's glade guest, Catrin Finch, gives Tang an idea 鈥 the band can write a lullaby to send Drum to sleep. Drum has dashed off again but they eventually track her down in the glade, fast asleep, listening to the harp playing. But now it's time to wake her up and the ZingZillas gather to play the Big Night Zing, accompanied by the harp. At the end of the song a tired Drum finally drifts off to sleep.
In Friday's finale, A Great Place To Live, Zak discovers Todd stuck behind boxes in his cave. Todd has run out of room so Zak suggests he moves into the Clubhouse with the ZingZillas. But the band need to rehearse without being disturbed, so they move to the Coconut Hut. When the Beach Byrds hear the ZingZillas' loud rehearsing they decide to move out. Even the Moaning Stones think it would be nice to move away from their beach.
But who will keep an eye on the coconut clock? While everyone is running around trying to get Granite and Gravel back to the beach, saxophonist James Knight is playing in the glade, inspiring a brilliant moving house Big Zing.

Alys Fowler weaves salad crops through the flower borders of her small urban back garden, demonstrating how they are some of the easiest things to grow as well as being some of the tastiest to eat, as she continues her series showing gardening newcomers and enthusiasts alike how easy it is to grow fruit and vegetables in amongst shrubs and flowers.
Lettuces, tomatoes and cucumbers can go from the garden to the plate in minutes, but sadly it's not all plain sailing for Alys, and blight wipes out her tomato crop. Fortunately, a friend with an allotment comes to the rescue. But while her garden takes root, Alys needs to fill the hungry gap by foraging in "the wild larder", to make lime-leaf salad, dandelion fritters and nettle beer.
Alys's mission is to prove that growing and cooking your own fruit and vegetables is hugely rewarding, cost-effective and life-enhancing.
In the small back garden of her Victorian terraced house in Birmingham, Gardeners' World presenter Alys has set out to grow enough food for her and her husband to eat at least one good meal a day for a large part of the year.
But, rather than converting her garden into an allotment with regimented rows of plants, Alys is growing her fruit and vegetables amongst her shrubs and flowers so that the garden remains beautiful as well as productive. When Mum finds an inappropriate image on the family computer, an investigation begins, as the comedy series that captures family life at its most deliciously chaotic continues its third series.
Gran is still staying and Dad is horrified at the thought of having a heart-to-heart with her. Karen is convinced that she has won half a million pounds and starts to spend it. Meanwhile, the ancient game of chess will never be quite the same again after Ben brings his own special talents to it.
Outnumbered is a very recognisable evocation of the daily rollercoaster of family life and a celebration of parental incompetence, as a beleaguered mum and dad attempt to raise their kids with the minimum of emotional damage for all concerned.
Claire Skinner plays Mum, Rosalind Ayres plays Gran, Hugh Dennis plays Dad, Ramona Marquez plays Karen, Tyger Drew-Honey plays Jake and Daniel Roche plays Ben.

It's the run up to the 1983 General Election and pressure is mounting on DCI Gene Hunt and his team when they investigate a series of politically motivated arson attacks, as the drama continues.
A fire at an Army barracks is soon followed by another more serious blaze at a polling station. As CID arrive to investigate, a quiet word from DCI Jim Keats in DI Ray Carling's ear leads to the detective risking his life by running into the burning building to save a cleaner who is trapped.
However, Ray's heroic intentions are short-lived as he is soon trapped, too. Fireman Andy Smith saves the pair and the usually macho Ray is overcome with gratitude.
As the arson investigation continues, Ray is devastated when an eye-witness identifies Andy as their prime suspect. The team working on the case discovers that Andy is an Army veteran who served in the Falklands; a war that changed him beyond recognition. However, when another fire starts while Andy is still in police custody, Gene has no choice but to let him go 鈥 despite not being 100 per cent convinced of his innocence.
Meanwhile, DI Alex Drake is still being haunted by the police officer with the 6-6-20 epaulette numbers and is struggling to work out why he keeps visiting her.
DCI Gene Hunt is played by Philip Glenister, DCI Jim Keats by Daniel Mays, DI Ray Carling by Dean Andrews, Andy Smith by Joe Absalom and DI Alex Drake by Keeley Hawes.

Multi-award-winning stand-up comedian Frank Skinner returns to 91热爆 Two with this brand-new topical comedy series. Each week Frank is joined by two fellow comedians and, most importantly, a studio audience to unpick the week's most talked-about news stories. The show will tour the country, stopping off in Belfast, Norwich, Manchester, Glasgow and London.
As with any topical show it is impossible to predict the news stories that will have everyone gossiping around the coffee machine, but viewers can expect the big stories from the newspaper front pages, websites, radio stations and TV news shows to jostle for position.
