91Èȱ¬ Radio 1 listeners are being given the opportunity to vote for the British Breakthrough Act of 2009 at this year's BRITs and all the nominees will be featured in five exclusive Live Lounge sessions, hosted by presenter Sara Cox (10.00am-12.45pm, Monday to Friday).
The nominated artists, an eclectic collection of the best new British talent, will perform on Sara's show each day between Monday 9 February and Friday 13 February.
The acts featured are:
Monday 9 February: Scouting for Girls – famed for their first top 10 single, She's So Lovely, Scouting for Girls are also nominated for Best Live Act and British Single for Heartbeat.
Tuesday 10 February: Last Shadow Puppets – Alex Turner of the Arctic Monkeys and Miles Kane from The Rascals come together with a new sound in The Age of the Understatement.
Wednesday 11 February: Adele – Adele has come to the fore in the past year and is up for Best Breakthrough Artist, British Female and British Single for Chasing Pavements at this year's ceremony.
Thursday 12 February: Duffy – the Welsh singer-songwriter, whose first album Rockferry debuted at No.1 in the UK Album Charts in March 2008, is also up for Best Album, Best British Solo Artist and British Single for Mercy.
Friday 13 February: The Ting Tings – nominated in both the British Breakthrough Act and British Album categories for their homage to British pop on We Started Nothing.
Radio 1 listeners can vote online at bbc.co.uk/radio1 from Saturday 7 February to Sunday 15 February 2009 when voting closes at 7.00pm.
Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills will be broadcasting live, backstage at the Brits whilst Edith Bowman works the red carpet.
