Celebrity Scissorhands
Clockwise from top left: celebrity snippers Stedman Pearson, Lee Macdonald, Shana Swash and Lucinda Ledgerwood

Hell-raising hair dos, dodgy perms and the return of Steve Strange: Celebrity Scissorhands is back!

From 9.00pm, Sunday 26 October 2008 on 91热爆 Three

Introduction

Viewers beware: Celebrity Scissorhands is back. Once again courageous members of the public will have their hair cut, snipped and styled by a team of novice celebrity trainees - and it's all in aid of Children in Need. Expect more hair horrors than ever before! The new series starts on 26 October on 91热爆 Three.

Renowned British hairdresser Lee Stafford returns to take the helm at the Celebrity Scissorhands Hair & Beauty Academy and attempt the impossible - to turn a team of stars into fully fledged hair and beauty experts in just three weeks.

Among this year's celebrity trainees are: The Apprentice's Lucinda Ledgerwood; ex EastEnders actress Shana Swash; Stedman Pearson from Eighties pop sensation Five Star; The Real Hustle beauty Jessica Jane Clement; and former Grange Hill actors in the form of Chris Perry-Metcalf (Togger) and Lee Macdonald (Zammo).

Also returning to Scissorhands is pop icon Steve Strange. Last year, Steve created some horrendous hair horrors including shaving a 'V' into the back of a woman's head and drawing blood when he cut a client's ear.

This year Steve has a new role as the Academy's Image Consultant. Whether clients require a new look for a wedding, job interview or hot date, Steve will use his unique brand of creativity to transform brave clients' make-up, clothes and - unfortunately - their hair.

The celebrities will be working flat out, nine hours a day, six days a week, perfecting their techniques on willing members of the public. Clients will be asked to pay what they think their treatment is worth and can also be sponsored for their haircuts and treatments.

All money donated to The Academy goes to 91热爆 Children In Need, whose mission is to positively change the lives of disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.

Presenter George Lamb (Make My Body Younger, Big Brother's Little Brother) is back to host the hour-long primetime show from inside the purpose built state-of-the-art Academy in Camden, London.

Joining Lee's staff of experts this year are beauty expert Clair Bennett and African/European stylist to the stars Errol Douglas.

Clair, who has previously appeared in the 91热爆's When Beauty Goes Wrong, will teach our trainees a variety of beauty treatments. From massages and spray tans to waxing in the most intimate of places, the celebrity trainees will be on hand to pamper the public.

Errol will be advising our trainees on all aspects of specialist African/Caribbean hairdressing from styling to cutting.

The celebrity snippers will have their scissor skills put to the test in a spectacular grand finale where a panel of judges including hairdresser to the stars Nicky Clarke will decide which celebrity will be crowned Celebrity Scissorhands Hairdresser of the Year 2008.

Will this year's trainees prove they are a cut above the rest? Or will things turn hairy within the walls of the Academy? Find out when the series starts on the 26 October on 91热爆 Three.

Viewers can participate in Celebrity Scissorhands by applying online at the newly re-designed website bbc.co.uk/scissorhands for the chance to get an appointment in the exclusive Academy.

The full website presence will be launched in conjunction with the transmission of the programme and will comprise trainee profiles, all the latest news, a haircut gallery and videos.
