The 91Èȱ¬ today unveiled a brand new look for C91Èȱ¬, the channel for 6 to 12-year-olds, with a fantastic range of brilliant new programmes, a
distinctive new logo and brand new animated idents.
Ìý
The new content and new image firmly establish C91Èȱ¬'s position as a truly
multiplatform brand available on 91Èȱ¬ One, 91Èȱ¬ Two, the digital C91Èȱ¬
channel and bbc.co.uk/cbbc.
Ìý
The new season and new look will be on air
and online from 3 September 2007.
Ìý
C91Èȱ¬ also welcomes a new face in the form of Ed Petrie, who will host
C91Èȱ¬ every weekday afternoon.
Ìý
Anne Gilchrist, Creative Director, C91Èȱ¬ said: "I'm really excited about
the prospect of more children finding out about the great new content
C91Èȱ¬ is offering – and then passing it on to their friends."
Ìý
Highlights of the new season include Escape From Scorpion Island, a high-octane, adrenaline-fuelled adventure game presented by Reggie Yates and
Caroline Flack and set on a fictitious exotic island off the coast of
Brazil.
Ìý
Ten children compete to escape from the island by undertaking a
series of extreme challenges including sky diving, river crossing, fire
walking and helicopter abseiling.
Ìý
Encapsulating the interactive and multiplatform nature of C91Èȱ¬, children
at home will also be able to join in the Escape From Scorpion Island
action by logging onto the show's micro-site at bbc.co.uk/cbbc. By
spotting clues and codes buried in the TV show, budding adventurers will
be able to take up their own personal quest online.
Ìý
Continuing the interactive theme, C91Èȱ¬ is also proud to announce the
launch of Adventure Rock, a stunning new virtual online world which
allows children to play games and create movies, music and animations.
Ìý
Other highlights premiering on C91Èȱ¬ this autumn include The Sarah Jane
Adventures. Created by multi-award winning Doctor Who writer Russell T
Davies and starring Elisabeth Sladen as one of The Doctor's most famous
former companions, investigative journalist Sarah Jane Smith, expect to
bump into some familiar alien enemies from Doctor Who.

An ingenious combination of real action and CGI beings to life Jamie
Rix's best-selling novels, The Revenge Files Of Alistair Fury, in an
hilarious and irreverent account of the wild and immoderate revenge
missions of an embittered boy as he takes on his family, friends and the
unfair situations he finds himself in.
Ìý
The kids are also taking control in Summerhill, a dramatic retelling of
events at a real school where children are not forced to go to lessons
and write the rulebook themselves. Summerhill follows the journey of 11-year-old Maddie and 14-year-old Ryan who join forces with staff and
pupils in a battle to save the school from closure by the government.
Ìý
And a host of much-loved favourites make a welcome return to C91Èȱ¬.
