We still want Robbie, Gary Barlow tells Jonathan Ross
Friday Night With Jonathan Ross -
10.35pm, Friday 6 October 2006 on 91Èȱ¬ ONE
Ìý
Take That star Gary Barlow reveals the truth about his relationship past and present with Robbie Williams when he talks to Jonathan Ross this Friday on 91Èȱ¬ ONE.
Ìý
Gary says: "With me and Rob it became a competition. I lost my confidence and ended up losing my own career.
Ìý
"(Last year on tour) we were convinced he was going to come on, but it never happened. I think he feels something one day - and the next day, the world's changed. It would be great (to perform with him again), for one night only."
Ìý
About his career nosedive and subsequent weight problems, Gary says: "I got dropped by the label and suddenly there's nothing happening... you're a butt of everybody's jokes. (Now) I diet pretty much all the time. If I don't concentrate on what I'm eating, by the end of the week I've gained half a stone."
Ìý
About the reunion, he says: "Last year it was such a relief to be involved again. I love music so much."
Ìý
And he's looking forward to continuing with the band: "We never even thought we would do a new record. We're taking each day as it comes. We really enjoyed the tour, and we're really enjoying writing and recording together."
Ìý
Jonathan also welcomes Gordon Ramsay to Friday Night with Jonathan Ross. Gordon talks about why he's so driven: "It's not a job, it's an obsession.
Ìý
"In France it was natural - passion beyond belief. I became French."
Ìý
"When my parents got divorced, I cut myself off and focussed on work - turning everything negative into a positive," and he reveals that the only thing he would never cook is "lady's fingers - they look like something out of Harry Potter".
Ìý
He's challenged when Jonathan presents him with a new food to try - moth caterpillars.
Ìý
Jonathan also talks to Peep Show stars Mitchell and Webb, now one of 91Èȱ¬ TWO's top comedy fixtures with their new series, That Mitchell & Webb Look.
Ìý
Also on the show is Scrubs heart-throb Zach Braff, and there's music from Snow Patrol featuring Martha Wainwright performing Set the Fire to the Third Bar live in the studio.
Ìý
A Hotsauce TV/Open Mike production for 91Èȱ¬ ONE.
