Steven Mackintosh - Biography

Ìý

Steven's most recent TV drama roles include Shiny Shiny Bright New Hole in My Heart, alongside Daniela Nardini; anti-fascist drama; England Expects; and The Other Boleyn Girl, co-starring Natascha McElhone.

Ìý

One of his most memorable performances was as Davy Younger in Antonia Bird's drama about abuse in Welsh care homes, Care. It won numerous awards including the Bafta for best single drama, while Steven was named best actor at the Royal Television Society awards in 2001.

Ìý

Steven also starred in award-winning Charles Dickens adaptation, Our Mutual Friend, alongside Anna Friel, Keeley Hawes and Paul McGann; and played the husband in a crumbling marriage in acclaimed drama, Undercover Heart.

Ìý

Steven made his big screen debut as Simon Ward in Prick Up Your Ears in 1987 and appeared as a rookie crewman in David Puttnam's Memphis Belle.

Ìý

He has gone on to appear in Guy Ritchie's Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels; The Jacket, co-starring Keira Knightley; and Underworld: Evolution, with Kate Beckinsale.

Ìý

A TV veteran, Steven appeared as a child actor in one episode of Doctor Who in 1985 and as Nigel in The Secret Life of Adrian Mole.

Ìý

He went on to appear in London Kills Me, The Buddha of Suburbia and Prime Suspect Five.
