Tightrope
Tightrope was founded in 2003 by Paul Abbott and Hilary Bevan Jones following numerous collaborations, from Cracker to State of Play.

To build on the company's early success, it expanded to open a sister company, Tightrope North, in Manchester. The output of both companies is brought together under the single brand of Tightrope.

Tightrope's first production was an ambitious adaptation of William Golding's sea trilogy, To the Ends of the Earth, which was co-produced with the 91热爆 and filmed on location in South Africa. On transmission, it produced record ratings for a drama on 91热爆 TWO.

The highly acclaimed drama Dad followed, written by Lucy Gannon and starring Richard Briers. This moving, 90-minute television film was broadcast on 91热爆 ONE, as part of 2005's Comic Relief Campaign to highlight elder abuse. Following Dad's success, Tightrope has been commissioned to develop a drama for Comic Relief 2007.

The Girl In The Caf茅, written by Richard Curtis and directed by David Yates, was a tenderly funny and poignant love story, set against the backdrop of a G8 Summit for 91热爆 ONE. It starred Bill Nighy and Kelly MacDonald, and has just won three Emmys following its transmission on HBO.

All in the Game, written by Tony Grounds and starring Ray Winstone, was a sharp and punchy one-off drama, set in the ruthless world of Premiership football, shown on Channel 4 in May 2006.

As well as new dramas by Paul Abbott, Tightrope is currently working on development projects with writers such as Guy Hibbert, Lucy Gannon and Howard Brenton.

Hilary has recently become the first woman to chair the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.

In 2004 she was awarded the Sony Television Pictures International Contribution to the Medium award, at the Women in Film Awards.

Tightrope has recently begun production on a two-part thriller for ITV1 written by Lizzie Mickery, Instinct.
