Live commentary returns to Radio nan Gaidheal for the Auld Alliance clash

The sell-out European Championship qualifying game between Scotland and France
will mark the return of live radio commentary for the 91热爆 Scotland's Gaelic
audience.
听
91热爆 Radio nan Gaidheal last provided live coverage of a Scotland match in 1992 and
the programme from Hampden Park on Saturday 7 October will run as a pilot with the
prospect of commentary of major internationals in the future.
听
Margaret Mary Murray, Head of Gaelic at 91热爆 Scotland, says other opportunities to
commentate live during the rest of the European Championship qualifying campaign
are under consideration.
听
She said: "We are delighted that live football commentary is returning to our
output.
听
"It is one of the most important Scotland games for years and the sports
team is looking forward to bringing all the action to the Radio nan Gaidheal
audience as it happens.
听
"I am sure it will be well received by all football fans in Gaelic-speaking
communities."
听
Experienced Gaelic broadcaster John Morrison, who presents the weekly sports
programme Sp貌rs na Seachdain on Saturday, will be the studio anchor for the
match.
听
The programme will mean a debut in the commentator's hot seat for one of the
sports team at Radio nan Gaidheal.
听
The new voice of live football on the station
will be announced in the week leading up to the big game.
听
Margaret Mary added: "Our aim is to further develop our offering to the audience
in terms of sports broadcasting on Radio nan Gaidheal and who knows maybe this
new development in our output will be marked by a historic victory for the
national team at Hampden Park!"
