Shereen Nanjiani is to make her debut as a radio presenter as part of changes to the presenting line-up of news and current affairs programmes on 91Èȱ¬ Radio Scotland.

Ìý

The former presenter at Scottish Television will present the lunchtime programme, Scotland Live, every Friday from 11 August 2006.

Ìý

She says she is looking forward to the new challenge: "I'm really excited to be joining 91Èȱ¬ Radio Scotland. I'm looking forward to the challenge of broadcasting to a new audience on what is a new medium for me.

Ìý

"Scotland Live has a reputation for rigorous discussion of the hot news topics of the day as well as lots of interaction with its listeners- that's something I relish as a broadcaster.

Ìý

"Hopefully I can bring my own personal touch to the Friday editions. I'm also looking forward to not having to do my makeup before I go on air!"

Ìý

After a long and successful partnership on Good Morning Scotland (GMS), Derek Bateman and Mhairi Stuart are moving on to pastures new.

Ìý

Derek will be presenting the political flagship programme Scotland at Ten on three weekday evenings.

Ìý

Mhairi will switch to presenting Scotland Live, four days a week, and Andy Cassell will no longer be a regular presenter on GMS but may return occasionally if network duties permit.

Ìý

The new presenting team on GMS will be Gary Robertson, Gillian Marles and Isabel Fraser.

Ìý

Gary will present on all five weekdays, Isabel will divide her week between GMS and Sunday Live and Gillian will be a reporter on the days when she is not presenting.

Ìý

All of the changes take effect from Monday 7 August.

Ìý

Blair Jenkins, Head of News and Current Affairs at 91Èȱ¬ Scotland, said: "Our daily programmes on Radio Scotland have a strong and growing record of journalistic ambition and audience appeal.

Ìý

"With these changes, and the energy and commitment of our talented production teams, we will keep building on that success."
