91Èȱ¬ THREE has commissioned a second series of the popular comedy series Ideal, three further The Trouble With. documentaries following last year's RTS-nominated The Trouble With Black Men, and series of Spendaholics and Honey We're Killing The Kids!

Ìý

Ideal, in which Johnny Vegas reprises his role as Moz, a small-time dope dealer, is a co-venture between 91Èȱ¬ Comedy North and Baby Cow productions.

Ìý

Commissioned for eight half-hour episodes, the series is written by Graham Duff with additional material from Tony Burgess.

Ìý

The executive producers are Kenton Allen, 91Èȱ¬'s Editor of Comedy, and Henry Normal and Steve Coogan for Baby Cow.

Ìý

91Èȱ¬ Comedy North is enjoying tremendous success following its launch in October 2003. As well as the new series of Ideal, 91Èȱ¬ THREE has also commissioned 91Èȱ¬ Comedy North to turn the recent pilot of I'm With Stupid into a six-part series which will go into production later this year.

Ìý

And filming will start next month on ten-part series Funland, a darkly twisted comic thriller. Two new comedy pilots for 91Èȱ¬ Three will also go into production later this year.

Ìý

The Trouble With... series of documentaries from Diverse follows the acclaimed The Trouble With Black Men, in which David Mathews tackled the issues facing young black men in Britain today.

Ìý

In The Trouble With Young People, journalist Carole Malone condemns liberal and over-indulgent parenting; broadcaster and writer Simon Fanshawe challenges gay stereotypes in The Trouble With Gay Men; and comedian and writer Robin Ince is disturbed by the emergence of an older generation growing old disgracefully in The Trouble With Old People. The executive producer is Leonie Jameson.

Ìý

Out-of-control shopaholics are put under the microscope to unravel the buried meanings behind their spiralling debt in Spendaholics, the first 10-part series of which has proved a popular hit with viewers on Thursday nights at 9.00pm.

Ìý

Presented by shopping and lifestyle expert Jay Hunt and self-help author Benjamin Fry and produced by Betty TV, the second series of ten one-hour episodes will be executive produced by Liz Warner.

Ìý

Following a successful pilot earlier this year, 91Èȱ¬ THREE has commissioned a six by one-hour series of Honey We're Killing The Kids! - a ground-breaking programme which aims to help parents improve their children's learning ability, fulfil their potential and give them the social skills to succeed.

Ìý

It imagines fast-forwarding their children's lives until they are 40 years old to see what they look like, and how healthy and successful they would be.

Ìý

The series is to be presented by child psychology expert and Government Children's Health adviser Kris Murrin.

Ìý

The series producer is Robin Ashbrook and the executive producer is Helen Bullough.

Ìý

Stuart Murphy, Controller of 91Èȱ¬ THREE, says: "These new commissions demonstrate 91Èȱ¬ THREE's commitment to be the most innovative multi-genre digital channel in the UK.

Ìý

"Ideal has been 91Èȱ¬ THREE's highest-rating original comedy since Little Britain and has given Comedy North a hit show in only their first year.

Ìý

"The new series of The Trouble With... continues the channel's emerging tradition of topical and thought-provoking factual programmes, while Spendaholics and Honey We're Killing The Kids! are part of a raft of 'therapy' and parenting programmes on the channel."

Ìý
