Fungus the Bogeyman
Mould hides in the White family's garden shed

Fungus the Bogeyman

Fungus facts

Fungus the Bogeyman was first published in 1977.

Despite much interest over the years, Fungus the Bogeyman has never been made for the screen… until now!

Fungus the Bogeyman inspired Sir Paul McCartney to write the album track Bogey Music in 1980.

Bogeymen have four stomachs, 173 teeth (including the two all-important fangs), six webbed fingers and toes, and very long tongues for catching flies!

A Bogeyman's favourite drink in the whole wide world is slime, especially the Green variety.

Favourite foods in the Bogeyman diet include Flaked Corns or Golden Waxy Bits for breakfast, maggots, flies, dead slugs and snails, gripe nuts, and solid or clotting sour milk.

Bogeymen stay dirty by wiping muck onto their armpits and brushing grime onto their teeth.

The favourite sport of a Bogeyman is Bogeyball - but only if the pitch is covered in five inches of filth.

Fungus the Bogeyman is the mascot of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

Bogeymen have three nipples.

Bogeymen wear wet underwear under a layer of damp, woolly clothes. On top of this they wear soggy leather jackets and trousers. The intention is to keep their natural excretions in, and they cannot stand the thought of drying out or losing their lovely whiff. They also wear Bogeyboots and the idea of dry feet is a nightmare to all Bogeymen.

Fungus's toothpaste is called Pepsomuck.
