Fat Nation - The Big Challenge

The presenters

91热爆 ONE

Matt Allwright is a familiar face to 91热爆 ONE audiences - he recently presented Brassed Off Britain.

Matt works across a range of factual entertainment and features and has a strong background in consumer affairs.

He started out with 91热爆 Southampton as a radio journalist but quickly moved into television, where he worked as a court and political reporter.

In 1997 he joined Watchdog and, in 2001, anchored Weekend Watchdog. He has also presented three series of Rogue Traders for 91热爆 ONE.

Matt's roving reporter is Georgie Windsor who originally wanted to be a doctor but ended up being a teacher.

However, her main ambition has always been to be a journalist and she landed her first job reading bulletins and reporting for 91热爆 South in 1997.

Her first-ever TV piece involved a swearing parrot and she's never looked back!

Last year, Georgie took on her toughest assignment yet 聳 to lose three stone by eating healthily, exercising, having a positive mental attitude and being filmed in the process!

Georgie is still concerned about her health and, as well as reporting on the nation's progress on the Big Challenge, she is also taking part with help and encouragement from the street's residents.

The F Team

Vicki Edgson, Efua Baker and Dr John Marsden are 91热爆 ONE's Fat Nation F Team (F is for fat!) who will help the residents to achieve a healthier lifestyle.

Vicki will be raiding the residents' fridges, throwing out junk food and cramming in healthier choices.

Efua has innovative ways of making exercise enjoyable and aims to win over even the most sedentary of couch potatoes.

With his pragmatic approach to psychology, John will help residents find the will power to make their diet and exercise a reality.

Vicki Edgson, aka Miss Chiplash - Vicki is a nutritionist who practises nutrition and naturopathy in a private practice in London.

She has co-written a number of books and writes regular features for journals and major newspapers on all aspects of nutrition and healthy lifestyles.

Vicki is a full member of the British Association for Nutritional Therapies and a full member of the Complementary Medicine Associations.

Miss Chiplash says: "Cutting out just one biscuit a day could 'save' you 100 calories a day. This adds up to enough calories to prevent the average annual one kilogram (2.21b) weight gain a year that happens to most adults."

Efua Baker, Fitness Expert -
Efua Baker has been a trainer, or body sculptor, for more than 10 years.

Voted one of the top five trainers in London, she prepared Christian Bale to fit into his costume for Batman.

Efua has a unique motivational style and combines body building, yoga, martial arts and dance in her workouts.

Efua does not believe in weighing or diets per se, instead she prefers to instil her clients with a positive and healthy attitude to food.

Efua says: "When you are watching TV as a family, get up when the breaks come on and do some activity.

"Rush off for a run around the garden, walk or run up and down the stairs, do some press ups, or jump on the exercise bicycle.

"If the TV breaks are two or three minutes each, you can add quite a lot of physical activity to your evening."

Dr John Marsden, Physiologist - John Marsden, PhD, is a chartered research physiologist.

He is Senior Lecturer in Addictive Behaviour at King's College, London and research co-ordinator at the National Addiction Centre, the Institute of Psychiatry.

John is an internationally recognised expert in the study of addiction and has research expertise in epidemiology, biostatistics, psychometrics and clinical psychology.

He also presents Bodyhits for 91热爆 THREE.

John says: "Changing your behaviour will mean that increased physical activity and a healthy, varied diet become second nature after a while.

"But if you have the occasional lapse don't panic. Just think of it as a temporary glitch, whether you stray off course for a few days or for weeks, it doesn't matter 聳 just get back on track as soon as you can."
