The Production Team
听
James Peries - Editor
James studied at Bristol University and went on to gain a doctorate
at University of London, researching Post-colonial Theory, and the Politics
of Language. He lectured and directed productions for five years at
The Central School of Speech of Drama. At Central he was part of the
team that created the first BA (Hons) degree in World Theatre, taught
at South Bank University. He also script edited, co-directed and co-composed
three productions at the open air Minack Theatre in Cornwall. From here
he moved to Theatre Royal Stratford East to take up the role of Literary
Manager, developing new plays and musicals. He edited the publication
of the new play Shoot To Win published by Oberon Books. Silver Street
is his first project for the 91热爆.
Simon Morecroft 聳 Programme Manager
Simon has spent 17 years working in radio drama as a Studio Manager,
and has been involved in the World Service soap Westway since its inception
six years ago. He has also worked on drama and other series in Mumbai
and Delhi, so it seemed natural for him to continue the Asian connection
and move onto the Silver Street team. He is thoroughly enjoying working
on this new project that is fresh, exciting and innovative in terms
of its sound. Simon is also a musician, with a degree in music from
Worcester College Oxford, and has composed extensively for radio.
听
Naylah Ahmed 聳 Script Editor
Naylah has written for radio, television and stage. She joined the 91热爆
as Development Producer in Radio Drama in 2002, where she enjoyed working
and developing writers new to the medium. She's produced single dramas
for Radio 4 and youth dramas for local radio. She's thrilled to be part
of a new show - building it from the beginning - and is especially excited
to be offering fresh new opportunities to writers and actors. Silver
Street is a great new opportunity for her to be part of a team offering
current, contemporary drama to a British Asian audience.
听
Deborah Sathe 聳 Producer
Previous to joining the 91热爆 Deborah worked in theatre, both as a director
and as a producer, in the regions and in London. Silver Street is a
new and exciting project, particularly its challenging ten minute episode
that hasn't been done on radio before. This is a chance to create radio
drama for a new audience 聳 with new editing styles and a great
deal of music. Deborah is delighted to work on a young, pacy, urban
soap for a specific British Asian audience.
