Test
the Nation: The National Quiz 2003 - The Results
Celebrity
designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen is painting the town red after
winning on Test the Nation: The National Quiz, which transmitted
live Saturday 6 September on 91热爆 ONE.
Having
gone into the show with no real designs on the top spot, Laurence
had quipped: "I just want to prove I'm more intelligent than
my spaniel."
In
fact, he proved to be the cleverest of the celebrities, including
runner-up Clarissa Dickson Wright and third place Josie d'Arby.
The
other celebrities - Leslie Grantham, Darren Campbell, Sally Lindsay
and Ed Byrne - took a step out of the limelight, scoring lower.
Laurence
Llewelyn-Bowen said: "I'm quite embarrassed about winning as
it's rather ungentlemanly to win, but I did also have to restrain
myself from doing a lap of honour around the studio."
EastEnders'
Leslie Grantham, who came in last out of the celebrities, said:
"I did terrible. I think I should get back to the Queen Vic
and do a few more pub quizzes."
In
a first for 91热爆 ONE's Test the Nation series, 25,000 people took
part via text on their mobile phone.
Over
86,000 people took part in the test via the Internet, with 13-year-old
George Alexander from Bristol scoring highest online.
From
the six groups who made up the audience in the live studio the Examiners
took top honours.
Sadly
the Estate Agents went into negative equity, coming bottom out of
the rest. They were beaten by Cabin Crew, Domestic Goddesses, Plumbers
and Football Supporters.
The
full results for the programme follow. The scores given represent
average quiz quotients. Individual quiz quotients range from 70
to 145.
